I held of a long time before buying this jig. It's not cheap and I make instruments so I should be able to make my own jigs! In the end I caved in and bought one.

The build quality is great. Instructions are good. Once set up the jig is very stable with no play. The router runs smoothly on the track. I used a bit and bearing from Stewmac.
My mandolins have quite a pronounced dome on top and back and with this jig I was able to cut clean, accurate rebates very easily - much more accurate and more quickly that all of the other methods that I've tried.

Overall a great jig and well worth the price.

Suggestions;
# I would be great if Crimson Guitars stocked the router bits.

# For narrow instruments like a mandolin it can be hard to position the instruments supports at the neck end so they don't clash into each other. If the supports had rounded ends that would allow a little more space.

# The thickness of the router base, jig and nylon bush mean that the bit has to extend further out of the chuck that I would like. I'm not sure there is a solution to this since all of those parts are needed!
