Description

A Notched Straight Edge for guitar or bass enables the luthier/repair person to check how level the actual fretboard is rather than just the frets, which makes for a much more precise fret job. This is a recent and welcome invention which we at Crimson Guitars think we have managed to improve upon!

Our notched straight edges are precision cut from 3mm thick stainless steel and then hand ground and lapped on both edges to a flatness of 0.01mm in a meter.  This is flatter in fact than most commercial straight edges, giving you the best chance of a straight neck, offering you the best tool for the task,  and guaranteed with the Crimson Guitars seal of quality and durability.

All standard straight edges are used in woodworking workshops all over the world.

The notched straight edges are finished with a 2K automotive spattered matte finish. This is to give the tool a textured surface, reducing the risk of dropping the tool on your instrument. It allows you to see the gaps much more clearly and helps make your job that much easier.

At 720mm long in total, one side of the Bass notched straight edge fits over 30", 32″, 33″, and 34″ (Fender) scale lengths and the other side covers 35″ and 36″ scale lengths.

    Dimensions:

    • length 720mm
    • width 39mm
    • thickness 3mm
