17 days to London Guitar Show - Stand 244
Much has been done over the last few days.. with the show so near I was compeled to spend the holiday in the workshop in blissful ignorance of the familial gatherings and bickerings.. Oh well.. can't complain!
due to the nature of what I've been working on there are not that many photo's and what is here spans Saturday to Tuesday..

These four guitars all have had at least four coats of oil added a day.. I'm planning on having them together before the end of the week!

the main task.. the guitar stand for the show! This turned in to a mega-job! after cutting each piece to size on the bandsaw all 15 of them have t be routed using a template and a very large bearing cutter..

after a days work..

more pretty pieces of wood.. aka guitars..

and a multi-guitar interlocking stand.. this'll hold 15..

each piece has a flamed maple laminate glued to either side..

which, after two hours, is trimmed down rather violently with a sharp knife..

and we are left with this.. tomorrow they will be routed and rounded off and under oil...
Question of the Day
'Did you name Crimson Guitars after King Crimson and what does Robert have to say abot it?'
Yes, .. and no.. I named the company after a brainstorming session in front of some music chanel on TV.. King Crimson came up and the word Crimson just crept insidiously into my brain and wouldn't let go.... I rebranded everything and got going.. three weeks later a mutual friend of Robert and myself came to the workshop, saw the new name and mentioned Robert.. and thus history was made! Robert has only said that the generally public being as cynical as they are will never believe the above accuont.. if that's you.. well, you've proved his point! (it is true though you bastards!)
'till tomorrow,
