Dennis 'Doc' Tirch

The music that Dennis Works with is drawn from over 25 years involvement with blues driven rock and roll, all the while delving into 'art rock', progressive rock, electronic music and minimalist composition.  He is something of an experimental guitarist by inspiration, neccessity, or fortune... who knows?

He has been performing on the New York and New Jersey scene for quite a long time and has worked with some wonderful musicians.  He has also studied with some of the greats, notably with guitar master Tony Geballe, but also with Robert Fripp and Curt Golden on guitar craft courses.

These days Dennis is chiefly collaberating with Mike Roze.  Mike is a brilliant multi-instrumentalist, percussionist and producer who has engineered for a list of art rock pioneers such as King Crimson and Tony Visconti.

Mike and Dennis are currently producing a new cd release with Tony Geballe producing on some tracks.  This will feature a series of instrumental pieces, layers with 'found sounds' and ambient sonic narratives.  This cd has evolved into a project known as 'Stone Document'

The Swan Vestas is another project where Dennis is the bassist and Mike the drummer, the Swan Vestas support vocalist Ric Mercaldi.  Jacylin Tirch, Mike and Dennis also collaberate in a multimedia band called 'Cult of Propulsion'.  This project brings dark pop song forms and art rock conventions into collision with pysychedelic image poetry.  The New York Guitar Craft Repetoire Circle and the prog/fusion combo MTR are some of the other colaberations in which Dennis is involved.
