The diary today is another slighlty compressed version of two days of work.. the largest portion of that work has consisted of answering the phone and emails followed by being chased up by accountants and lawyers... nonetheless, this Sunday Crimson Guitars will be appearing at a guitar show in Birmingham and as a result I've re-vibrated all the stock guitars I have here..
But first, I start with a new customer and a new design! Finally, a guitar designed by someone who doesn't want it to look like something made 60 years ago! My kind of customer... oh, and he's left-handed!
the headstock's final design, there really isn't too much you can do with a headstock and keep the straight string-pull I require.. but this, after some tweaking, worked out perfectly!
an hour or so with a pencil and eraser and we end up with
the right-handed version of his left-handed guitar.. drawing the left-handed version would have addled my brain.. it's easier just to turn the template over!
On to wiring up Richards PAF...
the shielding tape in place..
and wired up... the clips are on either side of the capaitor and act as a heat sink which guards against the soldering iron destroying the capacitor!
Looking quite pretty!
On to re-vibrating the guitars for the show... the X-symbol here recieving a fresh coat of lemon oil for the fingerboard..
and all the rest, action, intonation etc all checked.. not that there are any problems since these were all set up just over a month ago..
