The day begins with a final little look at one of the best guitars I've ever built, the was the first job done by our new exceptionally talented custom finisher and the whole thing just came together perfectly! .. al Bud is thinking is that it's getting in the way of a cuddle or two!

about 150 photo's are taken of her

prior to finally shipping her off to her new owner in Costa Rica.. it always hurts a little to let them go but in the normal way of things I get to se them again every now and then.. oh well.

Steve, from Siouxie Sous' new band is down to design his new signature model... he loves the strawberry, but who doesn't!

and gets dwn and dirty with the Ox amp and this trans black descendant loaded with Wizard covered 'Toil and Trouble' pickups... the amp and those pickups combined added up to an acoustic guitar vibrating off the wall and several slightly dazed comments from neighbours and local dog walkers! Fun MUST be had!!

after much deliberation here is the new design.. loosly based on my PAF (patent applied for.. ) design but with some Stevesque tweaks..

and again my standard RF headstock is tweaked to come up with something a bit different.. the guitar itself will be built out of one solid chunk of rubean red perspex! Keep your eyes peeled!

the strings, pickups etc are stripped off the RF slim I worked on yesterday as I want to recess the bridge a bit more, Kahlers sound better when the saddles are at an up angle and I couldn't achieve that as was..

once routed out oil and wax is added to the new cavity to match it in

and everything is re-installed..

including the stereo and 13-pin outputs.. (don't you just love the Elm top on her?)

and the backplates.. she is a beauty and will be souning amazing pretty soon!

today's showpiece is one of my favourite guitars... the Scallop though not very many people seem to like the look??
I designed her as my own ideal guitar, and came up with something close, mahogany chambered body, rosewood cap on the back and quilted redwood on the top with a solid rosewood neck and direct mounted pickups gives her a stunning tonality! ... Buy one! .. (that's my attempt at an impulse buy strategy.. just as you're leaving the store..?)
Have a good day!
