At rather short notice I'm having to take the next week off from guitar building activities, we'll be back on track on Tuesday next week.  When the diary is restarted then you will see a completely revamped workshop, new ceiling etc as well as several massive guitar-sized chests of drawers in which to store the instruments as they are being built!  The whole project will improve both the build times of each guitar and the atmosphere in the workshop... winter is now here and it sucks!  This will be my first winter in this workshop and the inadequacies of the building are starting to show!  We will also be seperating the machinery from the usual working area to keep the dust down to a minimum..  If there is anyone who desperatly needs to contact me please leave a message on the answerphone and I will get back to you as soon as possible.. in between putting up the insulation and hitting my thumb with the hammer again no doubt.

There is a new instrument on the site now.. the left-handed Helmet Mark II has finally made her appearance!

Till next week,

All my best,

Ben

Another day with a rather tedious diary.. sorry..

1

This Les Paul was the only one out of the five guitars that hasn't been set up with Buzz Feiten.. but came out playing like a dream!

2

after a full set up of course..

3

some of the wiring needed re-tinning as the solder was 20 odd years old and failing in places

4

seting up the four Ibanez with Floyd rose trems proved incredibly time consuming.. half the time I had to remove the string and move the whole saddle!!  I wish they would design these with poor luthiers in mind!!

5

even accessing the truss rod neccessitated removing the tension bar!  Can you believe it??

5

I'm doing all this set-up work in the office/display room and Jasper wanted to sleep at my feet..

7

The RG worked out especially well, she was practically unplayable to start with!

8

The grin says it all! .. playing through an OX Amp definetly helped too!

9

meanwhile Bud was locked out side during Tim's visit and descperately wanted to say hi.. poor puupy!

All my best,

Ben
