Well, back from a weekend with 05Ric and his new signature model extended range bass.. a very very happy customer. He's been designing this for over two years and inally has something that can be used for all the styles he uses!

based somewhat on the Klein guitar you see behind the toolbox..

and here she is with strings on finally

when playing either the guitar section or the tapping bass bits the whole instrument just moves into the correct position..

I love this pic...

back to work.. the acoustic is marked for roughing out.

using the pillar drill I measure the distance betwen the 'Noggin' and where the drill bit is locked off, this means that when I drill through the body I know exactly how thick the back will be when I rough out to the bottom of the drill hole..

preliminary holes drilled to give a thickness of 8mm

thn I rough out to a certain extent with a standard power drill.. which as you can see gave up the ghost half way through and decided to catch fire and melt.. hard wood and crap black and decker tool.. bad combination

but still got a fair bit cut..

after an hour or so of rough carving here is what I look like... very dusty!

and heres the guitar.. it still weighs around a stone!

I'm purple!!

by the end of the day the guitar is thicknessed to 8mm.. much more to be done on the morrow!

here are a few of the guitars that have come bak from the sprayer..

a pearlescent whiteish/silverish gretschish double cut

and the jazzer!!!

headstock

and back.. it's a bit dusty but still looks great!

the RF slim at the sprayer has recieved more laquer and is begining to look the part

I just love the artistic bursting here

and the vee mark II recieves her first coats of undercoat.. I can't wait for this baby!!!
till tomorrow,
Ben
