More of the same today I'm afraid.. setups a fret polishing.. I've decided to become fanatical about shiny frets.. should be fun??

1

we start off with the Descendant P-90 who will shortly be winging her way to her new home.. the push/pull pot to coil tap the bridge P-90 is being replaced with a push-push at the request of the client.

2

the problem this engenders is that the high dome knob doesn't allow enough movement to engage the switch.

3

so a few mm of unwanted material is removed,..

4

and when she is installed everything works perfectly.. this is one of my favourite guitars.. I will miss her more than most!

5

frets..

6

set-up... the supremely low frets make for a smooth as silk playability.. even before they were polished to this extent!

7

Thought I'd introduce you to these lovely ponies in the field I can see from my workbench..

8

On to the second of the JS series Ibanez', same old story..

9

When this RG was brand new she decided that some rock chic was required and jumped off her strap.. a few dents and scrapes made her feel loved...

10

I however want to make it a slighlty less visible scar and fill it several times throughout the day.. it will be polished tomorrow.

11

polish frets etc

12

the third JS, with Satans own trem system, is on the bench.. I thought I'd show you one of the reasons why I hate Floyd Rose's .. see how work the right pivot is?  This is an almost new guitar and this needs replacing!  The wearing makes the trem action uneven and will also inhibit tuning stability.. not to mention the fact that as it wears it will alter all my careful intonation settings.. GRRRRRR!!!!

13

The sheep coming in for the night... they provide no nd of entertainment.. there's one which always wags her tail prior to taking a dump.. very funny when all you're thinking about is throttling Mr Floyd Rose... (I have anger managemnt problems with this particular subject!)

14

The end of the day and I decide to switch the lights on... blue LED's will lend credabilty to any musical instrument! (Or is that my youth talking??)

Vee Mark II

One of the next projects to be undertaken will be a Robert Fripp model using back timbers similar to this Vee Mark II ..  a mixture of Sapele (farm grown South African mahogany) Purpleheart and Zebrano.. all inspired by a failed first attempt at Sandra's NST Acoustic... serendipity!

Till the morrow,

craftily yours...

Ben
