Thursday 23rd August '07
2 days to Cumbria Guitar Show

The day begins bright and early back with this RF Slimline model.. the pickups were left unfixed to the body to leave me a bit of room to make sure they were perfectly in line with the strings.. they were and thus were drilled and screwed in place

the ebony truss-rod cover is marked out and cut to size with a jewelers saw

as are the back plates

dust on the camera.. sorry.. the finish on this guitar is better than anything I've seen

completed headstock.. she's ready for half a day of wiring now..

On to this wee beastie, Jim really ewnt for it on this one.. all I said was something red and cool.. and here we are.. the mans a genius!!

I shouls take this to Wimbledon next year!

the Sperzel tuners are installed

the dogs get bored and under my feet but still insist that the workshop is where they need to be!

the pickups, a progression and racer from Wizard are direct mounted to increase the quality of tone.. it also reduces the weight of the guitar as they are rear mounted.. lovely.

the backplates are screwed in.

just check out the burst down the neck.. stunning!

and everything is in! The best thing about this is that the image really fits with the quirky shape f the guitar.. no mean feat!

I like building small, light-bodied guitars.. here is the x-symbol 'pinstripe' .. very light and comfortable.. I have a blue one built which will be appearing on the instruments page at some point too..
All my best till the morrow,
Ben
