After an abortion of a trip to the timber yard.. 3 hours wasted only to find a load of sub-standard timber.. I take the clamos off the Vee Mark II ... she's now officially an almost-guitar...

the template is used to carefully mark out the outline

and she's cut roughly to size on the bandsaw... ready for much routing, planing and carving.

and she weighs in at 7.5 lbs.. in a week or two we'll see the finished weight.. should beclose to half this!

the last pieces of timber for the Mode 1 are checked for fit etc under the template

the jointing areas are planed to fit

checked again

and glued.. I'm in two minds as to what cap will end up on the front of this... maple? walnut? .. we'll see

on to the RF Slim, the channels for all the wiring are drilled

and she is sanded down through the grits..(there's plenty of sunshine today to show up any faults!)

the binding and hard to reach areas are scraped and sanded by hand

and she'll be off for some finishing soon..

the mode 1 is dry now and is cut roughly to size..

and the top is planed flat

mahogany, padouk and flamed maple... this'll be a pretty one..
Till tomorrow... when much more will be done!
