1

We begin the day wth the cap for the next left-hander having been bookmatced and glued..

1

the template is used to get the prettiest bits of the cap in the correct places

2

and then it is cut roughly to size on the bandsaw

3

to give me a smaller area that needs to be planed flat

4

the cutout for the end of the neck is carefully marked out

5

then bandsawed and chiseled to the exact size we need

6

everything is triple checked

7

and then the body shape is marked out on the back of the blank

8

and she is cut to within a millimetre or two of the final dimensions

9

and glued..

10

the current baritone guitar has its cap sanded to size on the bobbin sander

11

she is also rasped, filed

12

and sanded with the random orbital sander to get a perfect profile..

13

the template is adjusted with pickup cavities and the cavity for the Kahler trem

14

the cavities are pre-drilled

15

and routed using various bearing cutters

16

and here she is.. the neck pickup is a fullsize humbucker with a sustainer next to the neck.. the fullsize humbucker gives a much better tone than the stacked humbucker.

17

the control holes are all marked and drilled out.

18

the control cavities are routed .. you can see the tone chambers here..

19

the cap is then carved

20

giving a sucked lozenge type of look.. as specified in the original brief

21

no hard lines... and a very pretty top..

All my best,

Ben
