 A day of long discussions and experimentations.. and not to many pics along the way..

as always the day starts with two sleepy pups on the couch.. where they shouldn't really be, blame my soft heart!

a graphite composite nut is cut and shaped for one of Roberts Hollow models

and then out comes the brass rod.. I need to manufacture a low profile/density easier to use locking nut.. this has been plagueing my dreams literally for months!!

two bits of rod are epoxied together

and the single middle section is drilled for the screws which should provide the tension needed to secure the strings.. unfortunately it doesn't work.. not enough torque..,

I calm myself by fitting bits of hardware etc and checking action etc...

On to the Galaxy guitar.. an old ibanez that had a broken neck, here you see the replacement I built after the headstock was sprayed by our custom paint guru Jim..

the Maccassar ebony fingerboard is scalloped on the last four frets

more experiments shall ensue with this edge-light perspex.. lovely stuff...  At this point Charlie Jones (Goldfrapp, Siouxie Sous) and Steve Evans (Siousxie Sous) drop by to discuss their respective signature models.. yes, both one piece perspex! 

the fingerboard is now ready for oiling and tomorrow will be finding its way onto the guitar.. which looks truly amazing!!!

Here we have one of our PAF models... PAF stands for Patent Applied For.. obviously and I thought it was a good name for a guitar built in the LP style.. though with a much sexier slimmer waist and more sympathetic carving... the fact that the model was named during the Gibson/PRS legal battle over the PRS Singlecut also had something to do with it of course!!

Ps.. I must apologise for sending you to the PAF 'tobacco' page yesterday, the page was there but the spec list was the template and was actually for the RF Hollw model.. nonetheless all spec lists have been prettified and checked for veracity... check her out here..
