Friday 20th July '07

1

after a few minor repairs first thing in the morning I start off with the Teleish beastie.. backwards headstock solid rosewood neck on a swamp ash body.. the tuners are added

2

and the neck plate and string-ferrules.  The neck plate is just there for a bit more strength, not really neccesary as the customer chaged his mind at the last minute and had the neck glued in instead.. that should help the sustain out a bit!

3

a very guilty looking bud...

4

and this is why.. he decided to sit on the puppy.. who hardly noticed!!

5

the scracthplate is marked out and cut in preperation for the two mini-humbuckers

6

and we have an almost guitar.. nearly everything is in place now

7

strung up..

8

and that's it for now.. on to Fabio's guitar for the last time!

9

the back plate is marked out

10

and the funky tuners replaced with much better performing Locking Sperzels

11

the final bits of wiring are performed

12

and the backplate installed.  The holes are so that you can have access to the hidden controls for the Sustainer unit..

13

obviously I need to polish her up a bit prior to shipping.. but to all intents and purposes this has just graduated into a guitar!

14

back to the tele.  All the wires are stripped and prepared prior to tinning the ends of everything that will be soldered together later.  Tinning is just melting a small amount of solder on either end of what will be joined so that when you come to do solder it the job goes much quicker and you are less likely to burn out any componants.

15

everything is joined except for the pickups.. another half hour or so and

17

I get to enjoy another new guitar for a while!

Have a stunning weekend..
