Despite the paucity of photo's for this days work I felt absolutely wiped out by the end of it.. the main job to be completed was 05Ric's bass... a job that was scheduled to take 2 hours kept the courier waiting when he arrived. The story is that Ric will be re-recording all the bass tracks on his and Gavins latest album.. which is being released in about 5 weeks!!! Hence the rush...

Anyway, obviously the first thing done was a final buffing up of the polish and then all the hardware and strings are fitted.

which neccesitates drilling fir 7 seperate earth wires so each of the bridges are grounded properly.. as you can see here the pickup is rear mounted so that from the front this guitar looks as though it has no pickups at all.. which is the reason why the pickup vhas the strongest magnets ever used in a pickup in the UK.. or probably anywhere else either!

a grainy photo of ot which here is a tone and a volume control.. keep it simple and everything tends to work out fine! Being a prototype pickup neither Andy the Wizard nor myself were too sure what to expect.. mainly because the new magnets we used have to pick the strings up through up to 3mm of solid rosewood and then at least 8mm of air.. plugging her in for the first time floored me.. absolutely crisp tones came through... and louder than an average guitar on that amp setting. in a few weeks I'm sure we'll be able to hear this beastie on 05Ric and Gavin Harrison's myspace space...

here is a small job that I started after having only my second cup of coffee at four o'clock I needed to perform some less stressful tasks.. Andy was called to discuss Rics bass and also to figure out what we'll be doing for the upcoming Cumbria Guitar show.. then this rosewood neck was glued in place on this swamp amp teleish beastie I've been building.. set necks always sound infinitly better with humbucker equipped guitars.. (at least that's my stance this year...)

and then in a last gasp I install the bridge and pickup... oh well... there's only so much running around that can be done..
Till tomorrows running around..
all my best...
