Well, Jasper starts this diary session here... gets in the way but he's too cute to turf off..

first thing this morning the Galaxy re-spray gets back from Jim.. amazing work

like me he even thinks that the back of the guitar is important

this cheap Vox bass copy has the poorest pickups I've ever encountered.. they're off to be rewound by Wizard

after they are ripped out of the guitar that is.

I move on to the first ever Vee Mark II... I am re-finishing several guitars for displays and shows.. I think that a bunch of red guitars gets the name of the company accross quite well?

firstly the wiring is carefully de-soldered

this cool tool removes the LP toggle switch nut like a dream.. I do love my toys!

here you see that I had to have an individual earth for each mini-bridge!

and she's ready to be stripped and refinished

On to the bass repair that's been going on for a while.. the pickups were wound wrong direct from the factory and therefore

a custom set of Wizards matched to the customers ideal sound were wound and dispatched with alacrity

they are installed and wired in, being carefull not to blow out any caps whilst I am about the job.

and we have a lovely sounding bass

and here I am now... he moved sometime in the last 45minutes and ended up as a neck warmer.. normally the domain of our two cats!

Some of you may have noticed the addition of this guitar to the RF pages .. basically what we have here is a hybrid between both of Roberts models.. she is a Slimline with all of the assosiated belly carveing etc but has also been hollowed out with tone chambers to reduce the weight and increase sustain like the Custom Hollow model. Also as you can see there is no GK3 MIDI system on-board, not everyone has a use for all the technology Robert utilises with such style.. Basically this guitar just shows how many options truly are available even with a 'standard' model..
Anyway, more on the morrow..
